Questions, answered
What is lip blush?
Lip blush is a semi-permanent make-up treatment that adds soft, natural-looking colour to your lips. It is a form of cosmetic tattooing, so the pigment sits in the skin and fades gradually over time rather than washing off.
What’s the difference between full colour and ombré?
Full colour gives an even, all-over tint for a fuller, lipstick-like finish. Ombré is a softer gradient, deeper at the edges and lighter towards the centre, for a more diffused look. We’ll talk through which suits you at your appointment.
Is the perfecting session included?
Yes. Both treatments include a perfecting session 6 to 8 weeks after your first appointment. This is where colour and shape are refined and any patchy areas from healing are corrected.
How long does it last?
Results usually last one to two years, depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure. Existing clients can book a refresh at a reduced price: 25% off at 3 to 11 months, 15% at 12 to 18 months and 10% at 18 to 24 months.
What will my lips look like while healing?
For the first day or two your colour will look darker and more saturated. Lips then flake and peel for up to a week, and the colour can look very light for a week or two after that. This is called ghosting and it is completely normal. True colour starts returning from around week three.
I get cold sores. Can I still have it done?
Usually, yes, but needling can trigger a flare-up. Speak to your GP or pharmacist about preventive antiviral tablets before your appointment. If you arrive with an active cold sore, your appointment will need to be rearranged.
Is there anyone who can’t have lip blush?
The treatment isn’t suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you take medication, including blood thinners, or have a medical condition, you’ll need to disclose it on your consultation form before your appointment.
How do I book and pay?
Book online and pay a £50 booking fee to secure your appointment. The remaining balance is paid on the day. Klarna and Clearpay are available if you’d like to spread the cost.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Changes with less notice, or missed appointments, mean the £50 booking fee is lost. With more notice, I’ll always do my best to find you another time.
